Week 1Foundations & Vision+
You kick off with your cohort and start defining the why behind your school: the beliefs it will stand on, the child it's built for, and the promise you're making to families. This is where your philosophy takes its first real shape, before any curriculum or floor plan exists. By the end of the week, you have a point of view you can defend.
Week 2Field & School Visits+
You spend the week on the ground, visiting 5 schools across the host city that have already worked through parts of the problem you're solving. You see different philosophies and models up close, and talk directly with the educators and leaders who run them. It's the fastest way to test your own assumptions against what's actually working.
Week 3Curriculum & Pedagogy+
You build the scope and sequence for your school: what gets taught, in what order, and why. The focus stays on how children actually learn, not just what looks good on paper, so the curriculum holds up in a real classroom. You leave with a framework a teacher could pick up and run with.
Week 4People & Culture+
You build your hiring plan: who you need, what you're looking for, and how you'll bring them in. Just as important is the culture your team will carry, since a school lives or dies by the adults inside it. You work through how to hire for that culture, not just for a resume.
Week 5Operations & Compliance+
You map the approvals, systems, and processes a school needs to open its doors and stay open. This is the unglamorous backbone: affiliations, compliance, and the day-to-day operations that keep a school running smoothly. Getting this right early saves you from scrambling later.
Week 6Finance & Growth+
You build a financial model that shows exactly how your school sustains itself: fees, costs, and the runway you need to survive its first few years. The goal is a model that's honest about the numbers, not one built to look good in a pitch. You leave with a plan you could actually defend to an investor or a bank.
Week 7Space & Environment+
You design a physical space that teaches as much as the teachers do, from how classrooms are laid out to how children move through the building. Space shapes behavior and learning more than most first-time builders expect, so this week treats it as a real design problem. You come away with a spatial plan grounded in how your pedagogy actually works.
Week 8Admissions & Community+
You work out how you'll reach families, build trust with them, and turn interest into enrollment. Beyond admissions, this is about the community around the school: parents, neighbors, and the wider network that keeps it alive. You leave with a concrete plan for how your first cohort of students actually shows up.
Week 9Present Your Blueprint+
This is the capstone: you present your complete school blueprint to BoE and your cohort, covering philosophy, curriculum, operations, and finance in one document. It's a chance to pressure-test your plan in front of people who will ask hard questions. You leave with a blueprint that's been through real scrutiny, not just your own head.
